WES HOOLAHAN may be getting on in years, but the diminutive Dubliner demonstrated that he still has plenty to offer with a fine performance in Norwich City’s last game of the season.
The Republic of Ireland international played a part in every goal, bagging two himself, as the Canaries thumped Queens Park Rangers 4-0 at Carrow Road, taking his tally for the season to seven goals and 10 assists in 33 games – his best haul since the 2010-11 campaign.
It was no surprise that Hoolahan had been named the club’s player of the season prior to the game and he showed exactly why he is held in such high esteem by the Norwich faithful.

Norwich ultimately missed out on a play-off spot, finishing eighth in the Championship, but Hoolahan was pleased with the manner in which they signed off.
“It’s been a good day all round,” Hoolahan told the club’s official website. “It’s a good way to finish the campaign. Obviously it’s been a disappointing year, but it’s nice to finish on a high.”
