Shamrock Rovers announce Burnley friendly

League of Ireland side Shamrock Rovers will host Premier League opponents Burnley in a friendly fixture on Friday, July 14 at Tallaght Stadium.

The Dubliners confirmed the friendly on Twitter, with Burnley boss Sean Dyche looking forward to playing in Ireland.

“We’ve decided to stay just outside Dublin, which fitted in with our thinking,” Dyche said. “I flew out there myself to have a look and it’s a great facility, which is the key.

“It’s a bit closer to home and we’re going to link up with a game at the end of the week which is good for our fans should they want to come over.”

Burnley’s current squad contains Ireland internationals Robbie Brady, Jeff Hendrick, and Stephen Ward and the game is sure to draw a capacity crowd to Tallaght Stadium.

The game will have a 7pm kick off and tickets are now on sale at normal matchday prices; Adults €15, Students & Seniors €10, Children U14 €5.
