Cork City face holders St Patrick’s Athletic in EA Sports Cup quarter-final

St Patrick’s Athletic will continue their defence of the EA Sports Cup against Cork City after being drawn against the Leesiders in the quarter-final of the competition.

The Saints are the reigning champions, having successfully defended the trophy in 2016, and they booked their place in the last eight with a penalty-win over Bray Wanderers. Cork, meanwhile, progressed to the quarters after sweeping aside Munster rivals Limerick as their impressive start to the 2017 campaign continues.


Elsewhere, Premier Division champions Dundalk have been drawn against First Division outfit Waterford, while Shamrock Rovers will also take on First Division opposition in the form of Longford Town.

A Connacht derby has been served up in the last eight with Sligo Rovers locking horns with Galway United.
