Drogheda United have confirmed the signing of midfielder Ryan McEvoy ahead of the new season.
The 26-year-old returns to the League of Ireland following a spell in Australia with Essendon Royals and joins the likes of Killian Brennan as a new face at United Park.

“Delighted to be given the opportunity by Drogheda United to get back playing LOI,” McEvoy wrote on Twitter.
“Really enjoying being back involved in [the] dressing room and looking forward to working hard to do my best for the team in what is going to be a very competitive season.”
A stylish midfielder with a ferocious shot, McEvoy boasts plenty of experience in the League of Ireland, having played for Bohemians, Longford Town and Bray Wanderers.
As well as McEvoy, Drogheda have also confirmed that Jamie Hickey will re-join the club for the 2017 season.
The 18-year-old goalkeeper previously featured for the Louth outfit’s Under-19 team in 2015.
