Holders Bohemians face Shelbourne in Leinster Senior Cup quarter final

The Leinster Senior Cup has thrown up a Northside Derby between Bohemians and Shelbourne as the rivals face off in the quarter final of the competition.

Holders Bohs are the most successful team in the history of the competition with 32 triumphs and they are followed by Shels, who have hoisted the silverware on 20 occasions.

Games between the sides have been few and far between in recent seasons due to Shels’ relegation to the First Division, so fans will be relishing the prospect of the old foes squaring off.

Elsewhere, Kilkenny-based side Thomastown United have been paired with Premier Division champions Dundalk. The non-league outfit booked their place in the last eight after a historic win over Shamrock Rovers in the last round.

St Patrick’s Athletic will play either Firhouse Clover or Longford Town, while UCD will take on the winner of Cabinteely versus Athlone Town.
